I’m lucky enough to live in an apartment complex that has a lot of good friends. My roommates and I just happened to live underneath some guys we knew through a student organization at JMU. My roommate Angelika needed help moving furniture around and they were kind enough to help. We wanted to repay them with dinner so after a few weeks of rescheduling our busy lives, we were all finally able to have dinner together!
I’ve felt like we’ve been eating way too much pasta lately so I wanted to try out a new recipe with rice. So I saw pictures of this dish online and thought it looked really good. But when I went shopping for the ingredients, I didn’t realize saffron was so damn expensive… It was $20 at the grocery store. The rest of the dish only costed me around $10. But I’ve never worked with saffron before so I was too excited. But guess what happened to me the next day?! I found the same amount of saffron at Costco for only $10! My heart (and my wallet) were crying. I snapchatted my distress…
Lesson of the Day: Costco has cheap saffron!
